This beautiful old Indian document box is crafted from luxurious solid rosewood. It's an excellent example of Indian craftsmanship with brass bindings over its exterior and delicate rosewood detailings on the interior. These rosewood Indian boxes were made for carrying documents and writing supplies. They would also have been used for storing valuables. You can see a clear influence in style from the British occupation in India. This style of box is from Kerala, South India and is from the 19th century and in excellent condition restored by our UK workshops.
